RPNs and Practical Nursing Students in Ontario:
A message from your professional association

On behalf of all of us at the Registered Practical Nurses Association of Ontario (RPNAO), we would like to extend our warmest greetings to all of our nursing and health care colleagues.

RPNAO is the one unified voice of RPNs in the province of Ontario. For more than 54 years, RPNAO has advocated for the profession to the government, health care organizations and the public in Ontario. We support you and the profession by working to improve educational settings and striving for respectful, rewarding and quality work environments for all RPNs.

Role clarity will be a key area of focus for RPNAO this coming year. We are working with nurses, representatives of the provincial government, health care employers, and members of other professional associations to provide a better understanding of the evolution of nursing roles in professional practice. A better understanding of role clarity will cultivate more positive working environments in which RPNs are empowered to fully utilize their knowledge, skills, and judgement, enabling them to provide the highest quality patient care.

RPNAO will continue to serve the interests of Ontario’s RPNs, who are so important to providing quality health care. Join your professional association and make an investment in your career – one that will help protect your livelihood, enhance your career and advance your profession as a whole.

By joining your professional association, you will increase the voice of RPNs as well as receive all the benefits associated with membership. Benefits like malpractice insurance,

valuable networking opportunities, discounts on courses and seminars, a subscription to the RPN Journal and many other initiatives.

Students in practical nursing programs can join as RPNAO members at the special rate of $20 (that’s a nickel a day), while newly graduated RPNs are eligible to join at a discounted rate of 50% off of the regular membership fee.

Become a member of RPNAO today and protect your livelihood, enhance your career and help advance your profession. Joining is quick, easy and secure at www.rpnao.org
