WOTCH Community Mental Health Services is a not-for-profit community mental health organization that provides services to improve the quality of life for people living with mental illness through case management support, housing, therapeutic recreation, life skills training, and vocational rehabilitation. The Treatment Services residential programs are designed to provide a safe environment for clients to learn and develop skills enabling the pursuit of individual goals.
Reporting directly to the Director of Treatment Services, the successful candidate will perform duties and responsibilities consistent with the mission, philosophy, policies and procedures of the agency, and the College of Nurses Standards, to provide a psychosocial environment to assist with the rehabilitation and community integration of Treatment Services clients. This will include duties and responsibilities specific to the WOTCH Residential Treatment Facility (Picc - RTF) and Maple Village RTF as well as general responsibilities to support the administrative requirements of Treatment Services and to support the Director.
Duties & Responsibilities
-Provide Clinical Supervision to Treatment Facility Nursing staff and the program.
-Reviews and assesses all referrals for the 24-hour treatment facilities with regard to eligibility and availability of beds in consultation with the Director.
-Determination of client needs and their suitability for Picc RTF and/or Maple Village RTF in collaboration with staff members and the Director.
-Maintaining RTF and Maple Village RTFs waitlists.
-Professionally liaison with community workers and agencies regarding Treatment Services programs, referrals, intakes, and waitlist.
-Completes all Treatment Services accreditation business practices (i.e. medication audits, infection prevention and control audits, clinical Record Reviews, medication education and training for staff etc.) as required.
-Coordinates and / or compiles regular and special statistical reports for Treatment Services.
-Review and initial staff (relief, permanent, and contract) time sheets and mileage as required.
-Make decisions independently and collaboratively concerning operations of the programs, policies of WOTCH and accreditation standards.
-Client and financial documentation including but not limited to the Common Client Record.
-Ensure effective communication with Director, SLS Manager, staff team, and external treatment teams concerning individual client’s progress.
-Review Budget with Director.
-Identify; promote resolution and management of all emergency situations concerning clients, staff, and property using WOTCH policies and procedures and cameras when appropriate.
-Assist the Director in the development, organization and operations of the Treatment Facilities.
-Assist co-workers and help them with job problems and assist them in working as a team to achieve their purposes.
-Coordinate and ensure smooth and timely admission and discharge of clients.
-Take on special assignments as agreed to with the Director.
-Create monthly staff schedules.
-As directed, assist with / compile reports and proposals with regard to expansion and / or modification of Treatment Services.
-Interview with Director potential Treatment Services staff.
-Orientation and training of new staff and students.
-In the absence of the Director, ensures that all WOTCH and Treatment Services policies and procedures are adhered to.
-Performs other duties and responsibilities consistent with role and credentials, as directed.
Required Qualifications
-Baccalaureate Degree or Diploma in Nursing
-Current Registration from the Ontario College of Nurses
-Minimum of five years work experience
-Minimum of two years management/supervisory experience
Additional Requirements
-Valid Ontario driver’s license
-Access to a vehicle and adequate insurance coverage to meet job requirements
-Proof of current Police Records Check & Vulnerable Position Screening
-Proof of current certification in CPR and First Aid, ASIST, CPI
-Knowledge of safe food handling practices
-Knowledge of WHMIS, fire and health and safety procedures
Physical Requirements
-Walking, standing and ability to climb stairs, lifting; occasional need to engage in physical activity related to client programs
Hours of Work
-Hours of Work: 35 hours per week
-Some evening and weekend work may be required
